本課程是由 國立陽明交通大學外國語文學系 提供。
Language is a coding system. The formal devices used to code information are most relevant to syntax and morphology. This class is designed to explore the central roles played by syntax and morphology in human languages and to introduce the form-function association as realized in the so-called ‘grammatical rules.’ Class lectures will focus on the English grammar and problems in Mandarin will be discussed as group project topics.
Textbook:
English Grammar: a function-based introduction, I and II, 1993, by T. Givon.
